One video from the 2017 Moving Image art fair will screen nightly on the 45-50 electronic billboards in Times Square for the month of March 2017.
Moving Image is also very pleased to announce our continued collaboration with Times Square Advertising Coalition (TSAC) and Times Square Arts on their ground-breaking public art program, “Midnight Moment,” the largest coordinated effort in history by the sign operators in Times Square to display synchronized, cutting-edge, creative content on electronic billboards and newspaper kiosks throughout Times Square every night. For the fourth year, Moving Image will solicit proposals from artists represented by galleries participating in the fair to have their work shown on Times Square’s electronic billboards.
“Our ongoing collaboration with TSAC and Times Square Arts has been so rewarding for the artists participating in the program,” said Moving Image co-founders Murat Orozobekov and Edward Winkleman. “And for the galleries participating in the fair, as well. Their opportunity to build important relationships with these essential New York City arts organizations has resulted in a range of collaborations beyond each March Midnight Moment. We are delighted to work with them again and introduce our international galleries to their programs and vice versa.”

Midnight Moment is the largest coordinated effort in history by the sign operators in Times Square to display synchronized, cutting-edge creative content on electronic billboards and newspaper kiosks throughout Times Square every night. The program premiered in May 2012 and is organized and supported by the Times Square Advertising Coalition in partnership with Times Square Arts, the public art program of the Times Square Alliance, with additional partners of participating sign holders and artists.
Each night, Times Square becomes a digital art gallery through dazzling visuals on select billboards and newsstands. Every show begins at 11:57 p.m. with a “countdown” that signals the start of the three minute nightly presentation.
